Raspberry cocktails might be considered a girly cocktail. And, yes, it is. But, for you men I’ve added some butch blackberries. It’s sweetened only with the fruit itself and a little maple syrup. Along with a handful of mint it is a healthier version of a rum smash. Strain out the seeds if you want a more decadent blackberry and raspberry rum smash, but I quite like the rustic version and assume optimistically the tiny seeds have beneficial properties to them. This couldn’t be a more easy to make cocktail, simply whizz everything together in a blender! That’s it. Because the raspberries are already frozen this delicious berry cocktail will be cold without all the cocktail shakery makery. That’s more time for cozying up with your loved one.
For my Blackberry and Raspberry Rum Smash, you will need
- 50ml Dark Rum
- 2tsp Chambord berry liqueur
- 1 handful of fresh mint leaves
- 30ml fresh lemon juice (that’s about 1 1/2 lemons)
- 60g frozen raspberries
- 30g fresh blackberries
- 2Tbsp maple syrup
This will make one small tumbler size.
