Christmas tree day is a huge event in our house. Mainly it’s my zealous husband and daughter who partake in this, wearing blinking red hats and Whoville grins. I opted out as soon as my daughter could hold her own and left the two family control freaks to it. They would circle, shake, sum up the shape, fullness and form of as many trees as their festive hearts can manage.
They would always come back talking ten to the dozen, explaining their choices while shoving them into pots in various rooms. In a blink of a 1000 Christmas tree lights they would be up, standing there like Cinderellas’ ready for the ball with the two Godmothers high fiving their father/daughter team work.
This year, I’m back involved. Charlotte has moved out but brilliantly is still coming along. So, we continue to make a thing of it, including dressing the dogs up (except old Ferris of course who appreciates a quieter life).
Whatever excuse you get, it is always a good idea to throw yourself into your own life. It’s only Christmas tree day, but it is also CHRISTMAS TREE DAY the perfect day to dress the dogs in cute jumpers, grab a take-away and sup sparkly drinks while placing fluffy penguins onto fur trees with your loved ones. What’s not to love?!
I hope you’ve enjoyed your own Christmas Tree day and from my family to yours, a hugely Merry Christmas! x
