Summer is here (finally)!
Getting the fur-babies cool is so important and rubbing their heads with wet hands etc just wasn’t effective. The sun was blazing and so there was nothing for it but a proper dip in the pool.
Well, that’s what we told ourselves. Basically we were super excited to see the little ones doggie paddle, ‘cos frankly, it’s hilarious.
Bilbo went first. This is his first summer, hence his naive expression. Dad just wants another cuddle, right?
What the heck is this!?
It’s alright buddy. You might enjoy it.
OK, let’s do this.
Nope, not overly impressed.
Next is our delicate little Poppy. Surely this playful girl would enjoy a swim..?
A few kisses from Dad to give her some confidence.
The splashing was quite something.
The boys stayed close, ready to swoop Poppy up if her long limbs slapped the water so much she might drown herself!
The splashiest doggie paddle we’d ever seen.
High five Poppy!
Happy to be in James’s arms.
Now here’s the thing about Pugs. The ratio between belly and paw size is large. Big belly, teenie paws.
So, as she gets going, with all her might, she doesn’t move very far, very fast.
I think we all agree, pugs aren’t built for whipping through water.
Our fur babies may be happier as land mammals.
In the end, all the dogs were cool and happy to charge around the garden once more.
