Favourite Halloween Treats of top bloggers

With Halloween round the corner we are bombarded with brilliantly batty, ghoulishly good, terrifyingly tempting, family fun recipes. So, in an attempt to see the (haunted) woods from the (spooky) trees, I wanted to gather together the very favourite Halloween Treats of top bloggers.

I got to asking some of the best bloggers for their favourite sweet or savoury Halloween Treats. The result is an inspiring collection of recipes perfect for your own Monster Bash (or family do, if you prefer).

Tieghan Gerard

Half Baked Harvest

‘He did the mash, he did the monster mash. The monster mash…

My favorite part about these cookies, I mean aside from how good they are, is that they’re actually so fun to make. I made them the other day with Asher after she got out of school and it was just really fun sister time. These are perfect to make with kids or even just for a fun Halloween girls night (like maybe tonight because, it is FRIDAY!). Nothing stressful about it, I mean these are MONSTER cookies. Meaning they’re supposed to look creepy and weird…’

Put your heart in it

‘I know you have been dreaming of a perfect fuss-free holiday dessert. Dreams do come true, you know, sometimes in a form of a pie recipe.
Honouring the traditional Pumpkin Pie I created a healthy no-bake and gluten free recipe of this classic. Excited?

Gluten free and health conscious life can feel challenging especially on holidays.
I had a sky high motivation to create this recipe. It allows you to enjoy the holiday dinner without having to give up on your healthy diet.
This time you don’t have to skip the pie!’

‘When it comes to chocolate cake, I want rich and fudgy chocolate cake. Like crazy decadent. Hurt-your-teeth sweet. Regret-the-next-day indulgent. And I don’t know how often I have mentioned this since I tend to repeat myself weekly here on this corner of the internet, but growing up, I never cared about frosting unless it was super fudgey like this ganache.

As in, I’ve never really liked icing. I simply want the teeniest smear on my cake and I’m good to go. WHO EVEN AM I.

…But obviously it’s the appearance of spooky scary pieces of glass in your cake! Oh me oh my.’

‘This Sanderson Sister Black Sangria was inspired by the classic Halloween movie “Hocus Pocus”. It’s black and spooky but packs a smooth flavor. The perfect drink to kick off your Halloween festivities.’

Carly A. Heitlinger

‘You will thank me later. This is the best snack you could have during the month of October. My mom sent up a BIG batch and I have not been able to stop eating it!
Did I mention that this is also probably the easiest thing in the world? Seriously. Absolutely anyone can make it.

Kris and Wesley

‘I know I say all the time that each recipe is hands down one of our all-time favorites. Well, this Pumpkin Butterscotch Bread is no exception.  The pumpkin matched with the butterscotch is nothing short of glorious. The bread is moist and so incredibly full of flavor.

A couple weeks ago, I brought one loaf to a neighbor who is a sweet elderly woman who lives alone. I bring her food all the time, since there is an abundance in our kitchen. She has called me every day since I brought over the bread and can not stop raving about how delicious it is. And she is very finicky when it comes to food. It’s that good.

Folks…serve this bread for loved ones, and you will not believe the response. Make it with love and feel the love in return! Enjoy! 150% Loon Approved!’

‘Make a quick batch of popcorn balls using the microwave then dress them up to look like gruesome Popcorn EYEballs for Halloween using candy clay.

Homemade popcorn balls are a classic treat to make at Halloween…’

Martyna Angell

‘Halloween – love it or hate it?

The theme is a little macabre for my liking and, this part I dislike the most from a nutritional point of view, kids get their hands on loads of lollies. But for them it’s also a reason to dress up and hang out with their friends…

…in Australia the rule is that kids only come around to houses that are “dressed up” too.

In case we do get the house dressed up – we are new to the street and it is filled with kids so it might be a good idea to socialise, I will definitely have a batch of this Healthy Caramel and Pumpkin Spice Fudge to hand out, knowing that at least I won’t be feeding them any more junk.’

‘Whether you’re walking the neighborhood with li’l mister or miss this Halloween or have door answering and candy handling duties, you, my friend, deserve a special “treat” for Halloween, too. This lobster pot pie recipe should do the “trick”… it’s piping hot, decadently savory and filling, can be made mostly in advance and will have you stomach feeling as warm and rich as your hert, as you entertain your favorite ghouls and goblins. Plus, with a little creative plating, you’ll see that this lobster pot pie recipe has all the right colors!’
