My name is Poppy and I’m gonna tell you what a life of a Boston Terrier is all about. I’ll tell you all about myself. My mum says I am sweet and gentle, alert, very intelligent and enthusiastic. But there is so much more to me than that…
When I was a little pup, I found things very scary. I was brought home in autumn and the wind, rain and even the falling leaves gave me the shivers.
Even today if the weather is bad I don’t like to go out. ‘Noooo, I’m sooo cozeey’.
Apparently I pull a freaky face when I dream. Twitching, tongue suckling and dribbling are all involved.
When I was young I was bathed all the time. I never learnt to enjoy these. No amount of smiles and lullaby’s sung will convince me otherwise.
I am magically ‘self-cleaning’ so don’t really need many baths. Mum wishes her kitchen floor was too.
I love toys. I mean I really love them. Toys are very important to me. Every day. And if mum puts them back in the toy bin I like to get them straight out again.
I’m really really cute and so sometimes I can get my own way really easily. Apparently this isn’t always good because I will try to become dominant. No really. Hard to believe isn’t it.
I am very affectionate and love my family very much. So every day when my Charlotte comes home from work we have a special time together. This makes both of us happy.
I love my ‘siblings’ very much too. We play together, walk, sleep, and eat together every day. I fitted in straight away. Only Mum says I have no sense of personal space.
I really do love her.
Luckily Rosie pug is much the same so doesn’t mind too much.
I can run really really fast and have ears that tuck back and in. My family tell me this makes me stream-lined. So, I am always first to catch the ball.
I really am relentlessly playful
and will insist you play with me…
So sometimes mum has to remove a toy, usually it’s a squeaky one.
So, it’s very important to everyone that I get a good run outside every day. Don’t forget to keep me warm tho’ in cold weather. I feel it ‘cos I’m little.
And then I will sleep and stay much calmer. But please feel free to stroke my belly as you go past.
I love sleeping on mums dressing gown most because it’s warm and cosy. Mum says this means its always last into the washing machine on laundry day. Mum says I’m worth it.
