Meeting the Parents outfits are just as important the 100th time as the first time. I have always felt making an effort shows a level of respect. It’s not that my in-laws have never seen me in jeans, of course they have. But, just like the first time you dress to meet the Parents, events (rather than popping in) call for suitable dress.
My in-laws go to a lot of trouble on planned visits. Their home is scrubbed clean, dressed up and filled with bowls of nuts, crisps and chocolates wrapped in bright foil. The kitchen is full of things roasting, bubbling in a pot and fresh crusty bread is ready on the bread board or more recently a pub is booked for lunch. The least I can do is turn up well dressed!
So whether you are meeting the Parents for the first time or dressing up for the 100th visit, the advice is just the same. I have put together a collection of outfit ideas – many items are hugely discounted!!
PIN this for later!
I rarely get ready without the company of at least one of my dogs. They know by my outfit choices whether I’m taking them out or heading out by myself!
In this photo below I’m wearing an old dress from Whistles but this pretty one is very similar. I really love the neckline which just shows off your collar bone. The sleeves are super flattering too!
Colour: Silver birch (and currently 50% OFF!)

The dusky rose petal leather clutch (and shoulder bag) above is a beautiful 50% OFF!
I also love this neat, elegant cross body leather bag – it’s little but can fit it all the essential things, like money and makeup haha!
My favourite belt I’m wearing all the time at the moment is this one in the picture below. It has just sold out! But – I have a few gorgeous alternatives for you. This beautiful one is 50% OFF! A new season one I have my eye on is this stylish platinum gold skinny belt. I love/want/need it!!
Meeting the Parents outfits – the platinum one
I adore the navy blue dress above – currently it’s in the sale and is only £30! It has the modern frill (but not too much of it).
I have a love of red accessories and they work especially well in Autumn and Winter, I feel. My biggest crush of all is on these New Season stunning poppy suede courts. But I also would love to have this fabulous red saffiano leather cross body bag, which would complement everything from off-duty denim to cocktail dresses.
