I always use my homemade granola, so I know it is low in sugar. But there are posh healthy granolas out there that are pretty good too.

All you have to do is gather together natural yogurt sweetened with a little honey, fresh blueberries and your chosen granola.

If you do not own any ice-lolly moulds see how I made these Sticky Toffee Ice-cream Blocks (On Sticks).

Before you know it, you and your loved ones will be brunching on your garden loungers with your shades on.

Frozen Breakfast Bars. A Healthier Recipe.
An indulgent, but healthier breakfast idea.

A Recipe For Frozen Breakfast Bars.

You could substitute the blueberries for raspberries if you prefer, or mix it up more and put a mixture of berries in them.

The fruit givens a refreshing burst of sweetness against the slightly sour natural yogurt. The granola gives some crunch, which is unusual in an ice-lolly (though common in ice-cream), but I think it works. I love it when I get a nut or pumpkin seed.

Frozen Breakfast Bars. A Healthy Popsicle.
Think of them like a healthy popsicle.

I think they are so much fun. If you are making them for your grandchildren, you may want to add a tiny bit more honey, just to balance the sour natural yogurt.

Servings Prep Time
6 ice-lollies 10 minutes
Ingredients
Servings: ice-lollies
Instructions
  1. Get your ice-lolly mould ready. (I prefer to use wooden lolly sticks)
  2. Stir the honey into the natural yogurt.
  3. Place a few blueberries into your moulds. A sprinkle of granola. Followed by a spoon of the yogurt/honey mix.
  4. Repeat until nearly full. Then finish off with a little more granola and one more blueberry (looks good)
  5. Place a lolly stick in each mould using it to push the ingredients around a little first so there are fewer gaps as possible.
  6. Wiggle the lolly sticks into position. With the lolly sticks in place, put into freezer. Leave for 4 hours or overnight.
Recipe Notes

When you fancy one, just place the individual plastic lolly mould under warm running water until it loosens. Enjoy!
